Well i must say guys if you didnt attend the Appledores event you missed out on a treat.
It was a fantasticaly run / organised and supported event dispite some very difficult weather conditions. This was the clubs second Two Bridges race &
I really think this is an event to put on your rowing calendar for next year! well worth a visit.
I must just say a quick thank you for the info below from from Rob and Len from Appledore........
The second annual "Two Bridges Race" organised by Appledore Pilot Gig Club in association with Barnstaple Link Rotary Club.
Men's race from Bideford on the river Torridge to Barnstaple on the river Taw.
Ladies race from Barnstaple to Appledore.
Results as follows
Men's Race
1st Bristol "Young Bristol"
2nd Appledore "Whitford"
3rd Torridge "Will to Win"
Ladies Race
1st Torridge "Will to Win"
2nd Torridge "Kerens"
3rd Bude "Bedehaven"
8 gigs raced in the men's event 6 in the ladies.
This event is now well established on the gig rowing calender. Racing was hard fought in difficult conditions especially for the ladies who had the worst of the weather and tide.
Our thanks to all clubs who attended, we hope to see you again next year.
I must just say a big WELL DONE to all involved in organising the event you really did a great job, certainly not an event i will be missing next year, even if i get soaking wet and blown of my feet again!
Well guys we have two events next week Dart & Mounts Bay ! hopefully i will have the results pictures and a write up of both events asap.
