Well as stated before, here is a little more info about the launch of Devorans new gig 'FAITH'.
In spite of the weather, we had FAITH that Devoran would launch there new Gig! The afternoon started with the blessing at St Petrocs Church in Devoran, & then a slow procession led by a Kernow Kilted lad, though the village & being pushed by various members of the club. It was obviously a hard push, as it was felt appropriate by all! to stop at The Quay Inn for some light refreshments of port, kindly supplied by the club!
Faith! built by (Maurice Hunkin) pictured below is clear varnished inside and painted in the club colours of Aqua and royal blue., looks fantastic! maybe one to watch for the coming season. Bishop Bill kindly joined the proceedings and blessed Faith again.
Bishop Bill ( pictured above centre ) then had the first ride in the gig, he said " I enjoyed my ride in Faith I wished I had taken up gig rowing when I was younger" Well Bishop Bill ( Your never told old to row a Gig!!) are you?
After the first wetting of faith, most of the people attending, had a little wetting of there throats when they returned to the Quay inn to finish the day off really proper!
A great day had by all, thank you Devoran for your hospitality, hurry up and launch another gig, will you?
